We now know all the details regarding the North American version of the Ford Ranger 2024.

The midsize truck offers a more muscular design, a trendy interior, and improved capabilities at all levels. A Raptor version is also added to the lineup for this new generation, which is likely to please fans of the model.

Uniform Design

As we discovered during its official presentation, the North American Ford Ranger 2024 follows the overall design of the international model, and that's a good thing. The American manufacturer's truck has more character than ever, thanks to a new, more imposing grille and C-shaped headlights reminiscent of those found on the Ford Expedition.

The interior of the Ford Ranger 2024 has been designed to maximize the use of each space, including a storage compartment under the rear bench. However, the first thing that catches your eye inside the truck is the technological evolution it has shown since the previous generation. The digital instrument panel and the large vertical screen of the multimedia system give a more streamlined and modern look to the 2024 Ranger. However, the entry-level configuration remains equally interesting. Ford has also kept physical buttons for climate control even in the most equipped versions. This is a nice attention from the American manufacturer, as the last thing you want to do while driving is to search for controls.

Three Engine Options

It's safe to say that Ford has decided to spoil Ranger enthusiasts, as it will offer three different engine options for 2024. The turbocharged 2.3-liter 4-cylinder engine still serves as the base powertrain, delivering 270 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. Additionally, the American manufacturer now offers a 2.7-liter V6 Ecoboost engine that produces 315 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Finally, there's the engine for the Raptor version. In all cases, the Ford Ranger 2024 comes equipped with a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ranger Raptor

The Ford Ranger has been a sensation since its return to the New World market, but one thing that the American manufacturer's truck severely lacked was a Raptor version. It seems that the prayers of the model's enthusiasts have been answered, as Ford has decided to offer it for 2024.

The first thing to know is that the Ranger Raptor benefits from a unique 3.0-liter V6 Ecoboost engine that is not found in any other version of the model. This engine boasts a power output of 405 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque, which is starting to be seriously impressive, especially for a truck of this size. We are very close to the figures of the F-150 Raptor, which uses a 3.5-liter V6 engine with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque. The latter is also much heavier than the Ranger, which is why I would be very curious to see them perform side by side.

Of course, the improvements of the Ford Ranger Raptor compared to other versions are not limited to the mechanical aspect. In fact, I would even say that the most significant modifications are those made to the suspension, as that's what allows this performance version to truly stand out from other sport trucks off the beaten path. Every single suspension component has been revised, and Ford has added a set of FOX springs that raise the suspension by 2.5 inches. Furthermore, the chassis has been reinforced to prepare the truck for the toughest off-road driving conditions.

Given the enthusiasm for vehicles with enhanced off-road capabilities and the popularity of Raptor products, the Ford Ranger Raptor is likely to be accompanied by a long waiting list upon its arrival in the market.
